If thats the case then, if your going to overclock it is difficult not to recommend the E2180 for "bang-per-buck", otherwise it might be worth waiting until the price of the E8400 comes down to about £120. BTW the GA-P31-DS3L is a great budget OCing board, but as with all new intel chipsets only 1 IDE channel I'm affraid.

I bought a e2180 in December as a temporary chip until i could afford a better one, maybe the future e9450 but i to be honest i think i am going to stick with it for longer. It is easy to overclock to 3.2 but i find it goes a bit too hot with the stock fan. I lowered the clock 2.8 until i get a better cooler.
My p5k works very well with it. No problems at all but if you like the new ati cards you might want to get a x38 board because they do really good crossfire. And i think some of them can even do crossfirex
