Plating problems with EK are in the past, i have owned almost a dozen blocks from EK, all nickel plated and have had no issues with any.

Difference between the blocks you listed is only aesthetics, pick whichever you like the look of best.

i'm looking to wc a 4770k so am in the same boat, my last 2 wc build have been a d-tek fuzion(v1) and a xspc x20 delta both for socket 775. I bought a delta v3 for £50 a few years back but never got around to using it, would require a 1155/1150 mounting + back plate if I wanted to use it for this but would it be good enough to cool a 4770k?

Raystorm and supremacy perform about the same as eachother. I would get the supremacy though, because it comes with more mounting options if you ever decide to change platform or sell.

I like the the looks of the supremacy clean, are one of the ones I listed copper and one nickel, if so which one performs better ?

personally i think the clean csq looks better, im not sure how much better the full copper will be though. (performance wise)

It makes almost no difference, were talking within a degree, the only performance difference is it will convect heat to the surrounding air slightly better than a plexi/acetal top does (and as that air is probably going to leave through a radiator anyway, well yeah).

As above I'd go EK.

I was EK previously, but went with XSPC this time, and the fitting kit was atrocious - 3 of 4 screws were threaded differently to the mounting bracket.

Being time-critical in my build I had to just rethread them, but guaruntee as soon as I remove it, it will be going in the bin and replaced. When I had my EK there were 0 issues.

i just cant decide which ek one to go with, theres so many :D

Rubbish, it's a simple choice between:

  • Copper base with smooth clear plastic top
  • Copper base with frosted circle pattern plastic top
  • Copper base with black clear plastic top
  • Copper base with black circle pattern plastic top
  • Copper base with smooth copper top
  • Copper base with copper circle pattern top
  • Nickel plated copper base with smooth clear plastic top
  • Nickel plated copper base with frosted circle pattern plastic top
  • Nickel plated copper base with black clear plastic top
  • Nickel plated copper base with black circle pattern plastic top
  • Nickel plated copper base with smooth nickel plated copper top
  • Nickel plated copper base with nickel plated copper circle pattern top
  • Gold plated copper base with smooth clear plastic top
Oh and smooth red/blue/green semi transparent tops are also available desperately ;)

Oh and there's an "elite" version where the bracket is nickel plated too :P

Oh and that's just the Supremacy block, they also do a cheaper LTX block with multiple options :D

I own the XSPC Raystorm block and it's really nice. Personally I love the aesthetics, but it may be a bit flashy for some.

Was easy enough to fit and came with options to fit 1155 / AM3 / 2011 sockets.
