Can anyone recommend a good CPU cooler for E6700 please?

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is looking good to me so far...

What can you use to remove the old thermal paste?

Arctic Freezer is fine. I've got my e6320 @ 3.2gig and it never goes above 50c under load with the Arctic stuck on it.

Also I just used some Kitchen roll (carefully) to remove the paste. Don't go buying any special stuff cos there's no point in my opinion.

Yeah totally agree! The stuff must only be an alcohol based solution anyway, right?

Another vote for the Thermalright. If you are interested in removing thermal paste properly, then you could try this.

I'd recommend a Noctua U12F, which is very very good. I did originally have an AC7 but it just wasnt secure enough for me

tuniq tower or the noctua the thermalright is the best by a couple of degrees but it's a lottery at the moment as to whether you'll get a concave heatsink or not it would seem to be safe i'd get noctua or tuniq.
