Which cpu cooler ?

Now i want to get a cpu cooler for my girlfriends pc which im building but i want the Best AIR cooler money can buy as i want to go all out on this, any suggestions are welcome, (edit) oops and i just realised that im in the wrong forum section for this :eek:

Lots of people rave about the thermalright xtreme 120 cooler.

socket is 775 and that Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme looks quite good but i want BETTER

I don't think you'll find better air cooling at the moment. Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme comes out on top in most reviews, with Tuniq Tower 120 following close behind along with Thermalright Ultra 120 (non-Extreme). Lapping the heatsink and the CPU heat spreader improves the results a bit, but from what I understand that's as far as it goes without moving to water.

Just got word from a friend that titan amanda is the best next to water cooling and hes always right so ive ordered one.

I dont like all the stickers on it... I would have thought they would hinder heat transfer....

I spoke to someone who had the titan amanda and he said the temps wernt that much different to the T120 Extremes with a good fan.. :confused:

Thats why I opted for the Ultra 120 Extreme.

Never been more pleased with it apart from having to lap the bloody thing for 4 hours solid :mad:

The second one... I knackered the first one up by laping it too much thats why I flogged it on the bay and bought a new one..

This ones ok now though and my temp idle at 3.2 is running at 44oC
