Which CPU should I buy?

Hi,

I need advice on which CPU I should buy. I'll be using the system to browse the internet, occasional word processing and some game playing. The games I play are old, ranging from the mid 90s to around 2004/05, although I would like the CPU to have the ability to play the occasional new game such as the new Deus Ex game and Max Payne 3 when it's out. I don't mind if the settings are low on those games. I'll be using an ATI HD5770 which I already have and also my copy of XP Home Edition.

My budget is very low, I have around £60.00 to spend.

The CPU's I'm considering are:

Celeron G530 £33.03
Pentium G620 £44.95
Pentium G630 £49.79
Pentium G840 £54.94
Athlon II x3 450 £59.99
Athlon II X4 631 £49.92

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Matt

I don't have one yet. If I go for one of the Intel processors I'm going to get this one

ASRock H61M-VS Socket 1155 VGA 5.1 Channel Audio mATX Motherboard £35.04

If it's the Athlon II x4 631

MSI A75MA-P35 A75 Socket FM1 onboard graphics 8 Channel HD Audio mATX Motherboard £41.15

And for the Athlon II x3 450

Asrock N68C-S UCC GeForce 7025 Socket AM2+ VGA Out 6 Channel Audio mATX Motherboard £32.60

I could always sell the 5770 it's not a new item I've just bought if the A6/A8 are a good options, but would I be able to play the older games I play the latest being realised in 2005 and also the occasional new game with just the intergrated graphics? Or would I need something like a 6570?

Deus Ex does seem to like four threads though:

Max Payne 3 also uses the RAGE engine which was used on GTAIV and runs better with at least three to four threads.

The Athlon II X4 631 and A6-3650 have exactly the same CPU performance.

TBH,that MSI motherboard is incredibly well specified! USB3.0 and SATA3.0 for £41!!
