just to let you know that your 3rd list Gigabyte 1080 G1 is only 1 X 8 pin .

for gigabyte you need to go for Xtreme Edition for 2 X 8pin

The stuff I'm interested in is what Power Limit % each model has. I imagine it's no good having 2 x 8-pin connectors if Power Limit is only 105%, for example (unless you're going to mod BIOS). And also how well they cool and how quietly, although this isn't easy to gather from reviews because they test fans at stock, and when you make your own custom profile to better cope with an overclock, you might find that a card which scored a bit less than others at stock (possibly lower RPM) actually has a slightly better cooling solution.

The big issue for me this time around is if the coolers can maintain the boost clock or not, which is really a sad state of affairs.

If the Asus one can maintain its boost, I'll pick that one up on the hope that it's capable of more. EVGA is a much better company to buy from in my experience though, so I am torn by that.

Couple of reviewers on YouTube have shown that even using FE if you adjust thermal headroom by a small fraction and up power limit max to about 106%. The boost clock will stay very steady.

I always find Asus GPU's 20% higher in price for the same product. The one thing that put me off Asus Strix 1080 was the RGB ROG led logo on the backplate. I mean cmon it has RGB lighting on the cooler it's self do we really need it on the backplate too.

Pass imho
