Which DDR3 memory can run at 2.0GHz effective speed?

Hello,

I'm interested to know if there are any DDR3 memory kits that can run at 1000MHz/DDR3-2000 . . .

Not been keeping my eye on DDR3 so not really sure whats what? :o

Can you confirm also that these are the correct speed ratings for DDR3 please?

  • DDR3 PC3-8500/DDR3-1066
  • DDR3 PC3-10600/DDR3-1333
  • DDR3 PC3-14400/DDR3-1800
  • DDR3 PC3-12800/DDR3-1600
  • DDR3 PC3-16000/DDR3-2000
Can't believe memory is able to run this fast, I feel old lol! :D
 
Yeah thats right, although if you are using an intel chipset i dont think its possible to get the memory to run at the full 2000, but a 790i using EPP and can.

I'm looking at LGA775 systems that use DDR3 which It seems can actually use up to 2GHz DDR3.





It's the P5Q3 above that caught my eye, sells cheaper than a DDR2 based P5Q-Pro and can run DDR3 at 1800MHz, maybe even 2GHz which seems very nice! :)

Of course DDR3 is expensive still and I'm just curious to see how Intel® Core™2 processors work when you give them massive memory bandwidth . . . I could probably only afford a 2GB kit with nice timings or maybe a 4GB kit but CL9! :o
 
Doesnt mean you will get to 2000mhz in an intel chipset. I mean, some motherboards advertise they are capable of like 700fsb, doesnt mean they have a hope in hell of getting anywhere near.
 
You can get 2x2 gb Patriot Viper 1800mhz for £170ish, so you're paying £110 for 200mhz :eek:

I think I'm gonna settle on 1800mhz and just try to push it a bit further. Reviews seem to say 1870 is around the max.

Is it supported though? Im guessing it should be really, you couldnt pm me where you found this?
