Going to be building a new x99 system in the next few weeks, however I am undecided on what RAM to get...

I will be overclocking so need something that will be stable, so what are your opinions?

I went for the Geil 16GB offer yesterday.

CAS latency is high (16-16-16) but 3000Mhz for £199.99 was cheaper than anything else.

Otherwise I probably would have gone for 2666Mhz Kingston 13CL but that's £50 more

i cant find any real world evidence that 3000 mhz helps.
i have found this evidence to strongly suggest there is no discernible difference..

as i assume you are one of the non ignorant perhaps you can explain what im missing...ideally backed up with corroborating content.

The review you linked is for 32gb kits, if the OP is looking for a 16gb kit this will perform differently with better timings.

3000mhz is quite reasonable for a 16gb kit.

whether 16 or 32gb i cant find any evidence to suggest 3000 mhz helps...obviously if memory limited performance will suffer..but the review can be applied for generally in relation to the benefit of 3000 mhz...imo.
