Which defragmentation software do you use?

I use Diskeeper 2008 Pro, and it's been flawless so far. I am running the trial version of Diskeeper 2009 Pro on the second system, and it seems to be better than 2008. Merely an unscientific observation, but the defrag seems to be 'faster' now. Another nice addition is the file placement feature now in the Pro version.

Both are 32-bit XP systems BTW.

Perfect disk 2008.

Runs fine on both Vista 32 and Vista 64.

Quick program and does seem to help - but as with many things I haven't actually tested accurately if it makes a difference :D

Must confess I'm confused. I installed diskeeper 2009 trial and had a look etc and it defraged. Fine used it for a bit and then thought I'd have a look at O&O and it seems to thinkt the drive is fragmented so it's off doing it's thing... mmmm one of them is lying...

Wonder what perfect disk would be like?

I use perfectdisk 2008, and even after using that on my games drive now again steam will still say it needs to defrag.

I just give up really :D

I won't be using diskeeper in the future after hearing this tbh -

Two fired for not becoming Scientologists

The former CIO at Diskeeper has filed a lawsuit claiming that his work forced him to take Scientology training courses, in order to keep his job at Diskeeper. Alexander Godelman and Marc Le Shay were both dismissed at their job for refusing to participate in a training course titled "Basic Study Manual", where both employees were told that they would be more intelligent and his personal life would improve drastically.

The corporation's CEO, Craig Jensen, is a member of the Church of Scientology and has stated that his employees are schooled in the principles of Scientology's founder, L. Ron Hubbard.[4], saying "I attribute [our] success directly to the management technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard. Simply put, I couldn't have done it without his help."

^^wtf ? lol, crazy :o Sounds like a madhouse there, and I thought that they were a pretty decent company. :(

I know there is a x64 of JkDefrag, I used it last night. :p Does the JkDefrag GUI work with the x64 JkDefrag? The JkDefrag is a bit automatic and uninterruptable for me. Would love to combine JkDefrag x64 with the GUI. :)

You should be able to; Majorgeeks has it labelled as 'Win All', and they are normally very reliable for compatibility. :)

+1 for the JkDefrag groupies :D :p It's never let me down.

Anyone read through this guide? Its a manual method of using Vista's built in defrag, which allows you to select various options. Seems interesting that they dont defragment files which are over 64Mb.
