Which defragmentation software do you use?

Yes, O&O has gone downhill somewhat recently. It's hard to look beyond Perfectdisk for the best commercial defragger and JKdefrag for freeware.

Tried many Defrag programs, I can't see one that's generally better than the other.

I've just settled for JkDefrag 64 bit edition, purely because it's fast, small, free and portable.

Is it normal for defraggler to be stuck on 100% and take hours to defrag a few gb ?

I had this happen with defraggler, I started a defrag in vista 64, it got to 56% after about an hr, and it was late so decided to go to bed

woke up expecting it to be done, but was still on 56% with lots of disk acess still going on, managed to eventually quit out of program, but now my drive is making clicking noises, so think its on its way out :/

use jkdefrag now, seems better

At my old company we had Diskeeper on about 2000 servers and I thought about gettting for home. Now this has come up I'm thinking about it again.

Those that are running Diskeeper, what version are you running?

Looking at their website I'd need Pro for my laptop as it's business version of vista. The thing I remember about diskeeper in our server environment was that you can assign policies etc.

As for my ultimate version I'd assume home would be ok, but i don't want to be missing things

installed the new 2009 trial on my laptop to see how i get on...
