Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKS)
Capacity: 500GB
- Cache: 16MB
- Interface: SATA-II
- Spin Speed: 7200RPM
- Seek Time: 8.9ms
- Warranty: 3 Years

Not a lot in there to seperate the two, I've heard theyre both nice and fast, lookin for a bit more info...

How loud are they, doubt anyone can actually compare the two tho.

I have 2 x 500GB WD AAKSs, have found them very good indeed, also give good Average reads in HDTach (71MB/s).

I would think if you are looking for very low noise levels, go for the Samsung, but if data transfer rates are important to you, go for the WD AAKS (which in my system is inaudible).

I was looking to see if there was a Samsung SpinPoint F1 500GB HDD, but could not find one (but I would think there is one), I would think, judging by the other F1s, that would be the one to choose, if compared to the WD 500GB AAKS. :)
