can anyone tell me if there is a way of finding out which ethernet controller drivers I need without connecting to the internet, please. I have an asus motherboard with a via chipset.
Well you can try installing the Marvell drivers, Windows should recognise if they aren't suitable. You could try a program like Aida32 as that might identify it for you. I take it you don't have the original CD or manual for the motherboard? That would be the simplest way apart from connecting to the internet.
