So yesterday one of my Seagate ST3000DM001 drives failed, after reviewing the experiences of others over the past few years it tells me that I will be replacing quite a few in the not so distant future.
I could just whack in another 3TB drive but as I am getting close to 80% usage I am thinking of moving to 6TB drives.
So far I have looked at the Seagate Enterprise and Western Digital Red Pro. My main criteria is that they will need to support being in a chassis of 12 disks and 5 years warranty. I'm curious as to what others have gone for and why.
I see that OcUK do various bundle offers too, has anyone got any experience of them discounting other drives if buying in bulk?
