Hi All I have been reading a lot about both Virgin Media and BT on these forums ,as there the 2 big players in fibre broadband ,what i want to know is out of the 2 companies which of the Tech Engineers who install and set it up in the homes are the better or are they pretty much the same ??

Are you trying to take over the entire forum? :p

I've no experience of Virgin engineers but I've had good and bad BT engineers turn up for jobs. It's down to luck who turns up for an install and, even then, what sort of mood they are in.

sorry i,m very interested in things ha! and i agree thats true sort of answer i was expecting :)

not had any Virgin guys or gals but my sister has, she's on her 3rd engineer visit in 3 weeks as her internet has been off for 3 straight weeks and no-one knows why. They fix it, it works and then about an hour or 2 after they leave it fails. 3rd SuperHub too.
We've had a couple of BT engineers recently, and both have been great. Made em a cuppa, had a natter whilst they worked and off they went pretty quickly with a good job done both times....so go figure. I live in an uncongested area, my sister lives in Brumingham and has been having a nightmare broadband wise for years...

Jez just create 1 thread for all your questions, I find myself purposely not reading your other ones due to how many there is.

A cup of tea helps, but both use a variety of trained monkeys to install fibre, but offering a cup of tea/coffee seems to help them do a decent job of the install.

IME most Virgin engineers act like they're doing you a favour. That's not to say they are all like that. Only had one Openreach engineer visit and he was sound.

I've met lots of Openreach engineers in the last few years.

PTSN guys always seem the same. Grumpy, annoyed and want to finish the job asap. The fibre engineers on the other hand seem a lot more approachable, friendly, happy to chat and so on.
