Which free VPN?

A VPN is only really useful for bypassing region restrictions. It doesn't preserve your privacy at all. Having said that, it can help, but trackers don't usually pay much attention to IP anyway.

It doesn't preserve your privacy at all.
That's not true, at least without qualifications that you didn't add for the casual reader. Correlation attacks, e.g. signing into all your accounts etc while connected can leak your identity to the sites you visit, but if your threat model is your ISP and/or government then they do a bang up job. You certainly gain privacy from logging by Virgin Media, BT or whomever at the behest of the Snooper's Charter (RIPA et al.).

I’ve used Wireguard for years. Fast and reliable but I use this vpn server to protect my network rather than to hide my location.

Hey all,

I've been using Zenmate Chrome extension for years, but it seems they have stopped supporting since May 23 - it has also stopped connecting completely for the past few weeks :(

What's the recommendation for a free VPN?

Ta.

What's the intended use? Free ones are typically rubbish.

My NordVPN is coming up for renewal. What is a good paid one to go for as an alternative please?
