Which gamepad for PC?

And another vote for the wireless xbox 360 controller. I'm using rechargeable Duracell batteries (MN1500) on mine, and the battery life is pretty damned good as far as I'm concerned :)

no question 360 all the way, just for the convenience of plug and play! why would you not.

i would have thought if you already had a ps3 controller you could just use that. it works in everything as long as you configure it properly/motionjoy. afaik it has pressure sensitive buttons and no dead space on the analog sticks, though i guess it doesn't really matter. all i know is my friend has one and we've been able to play absolutely everything with it

Why not try out the motionjoy setup and see if it works for you? Free to try and you can know for sure if you want to go the ps3 pad route.

I personally use both ps3 and xbox360 pads (both wireless) and they're both fine these days. If you play old school games (e.g. emulators) then a ps3 pad will be better for SNES games and the like due to the superior dpad.

I never had any problem with setting up my PS3 controller with Motioninjoy. Just follow the instructions on their website and you're done in a few minutes. I had a lot more problems with my official 360 pad for Windows that was down to installing the software that was included with it.

That's the only draw back with the wireless pad, having to change batteries all the time. Rechargable as you have, is definitely the way to go.

There is also a cheap battery charging dock for the 360, it charges 2 360 battery packs at a time, so you can always have one pack charging whilst using the other. I seem to be progressively playing more and more games on the pad, so I find this to be a very useful little device for what was not a lot of money, can't actually remember how much it cost,:p but I know it wasn't a lot.

Black Xbox 360 wired. Matches my case, plug n play.

I looked into the ps3 one but It just seamed like hard work getting it to connect and it was way more costly.

i use the logitech rumblepad 2,works well, you have to map the buttons on some games, for ease of use id pick an xbox controller

I use the ps3 controller. I bought a PC gaming pad from Game and the joysticks were atrocious. I used it for an hour and then stashed it.

Ps3 sixaxis + motionjoy + xpadder = quality gaming

After all the advice I went for a wired 360 pad and it was waiting for me when I got home.

Its great! Just plugged it in, fired up Orcs Must Die as a test and it automatically picked it up and the controls screen changed to a picture of a 360 pad. The game plays really nice with the pad, its the right genre to warrant a controller over keyboard & mouse.

LOL

I get myself an xbox 360 controller and what do i do with it? play retro games all day, not darksouls/darksider II :D
