You're post was soley showing your annoyance at a set of benchmarks that showed an Nvidia card to be top.

I don't care whether nvidia or ATI are top. I would have bought a 7900 GT instead of my X1800 XT (due to the awful power consumption of the X1800 XT) if the 7900 GTs weren't dropping like flies at the time, and I bought an Nvidia 7600 GT AGP for my dads PC last week. I will happily buy Nvidia next time if they offer the best value for money, especially if they keep their lower power consumption. I have zero brand loyalty and nor should I have.

I just thought the benchmarks posted were selective and showed a one sided picture.

I wouldn't have even mentioned it had he not done it before TBH.

A line has to be drawn somewhere with misinformation.
Fair enough. After re-reading I see what your point is. :)

EDIT: Also.. Those benchmarks don't even feature the 7900GS. Why were they even posted tbh? :o

Certainly the 7900 GS is a great card if you get one that overclocks well. For instance see the difference between how the XFX and Sparkle models overclocked when Guru3D tested them  - http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/377/16/

Of course this doesn't mean all XFX cards will clock that well, or all Sparkle ones will clock that badly. Search for threads about how the Leadtek/OcUK models clock since they're the best value, should give you a good idea what to expect.

The major advantage of the 7900 GS over the X1800 XT is the SLI option, whereas chances of getting an X1800 XT crossfire master card would be very low now. If you're not overclocking and not interested in crossfire/SLI then go for the X1800 XT.

The 7900 GS when clocked flaws the x1800 and is cheaper.

These things clock close to GTX speeds
Ha, Ha, youre repetition is boring.

I have yet to see a 7900GS beat an X1900GT, let alone an X1800XT which is even faster.

Besides, it looks like the 7900GS cards have started to die too, same as the other faulty 7900 series cards.

Why do people always forget that the X1800XT is an excellent clocker too? I got mine to 730/900.
Because they colour blind, they can only see red or green ;)
i must be bad cannot get quote to work haha

Look i just told you i own both cards and can compare direct.Look at real uses of the cards,CSS there is probably 20-40 fps difference noticeable?

BF2 shows no real difference either unless your playing at monster res.
