I've just purchased my new system, apart from a gfx card because I was uncertain of which one to get.....

I usually play games at 1920x1200 and sometime like to tinker about with Photoshop and do some video editing (Its My Hobby!!)

I am looking at these 3 cards but am still no wiser on which one to get..

The cards are :-

Any help on this problem is greatly appreciated and will finally let me get a good nights sleep.... ;)

Cheers Guys

As I said I game at 1920x1200 so would the 570 being the more powerful card be more futureproof with the extra vram as I am using a higher resolution??

That card really makes me want to throw up :/

Your problem is you care what a circuit looks like through your case window not the practicality.

Me on the other hand, I have solid and sound muffling panels on my case so I can get the white and blue graphics card and not care :)

I have seen people max a 570's 1280mb vram out on games, in which If I was to buy a gpu, it would have to be 2gb or over, just a suggestion. This is the paragraph - " Anyone here play/played Grand theft auto 4? If so you've seen the "graphics" screen where you adjust the game to look as good as you can get it to. On that screen it tells you how much of your video RAM you'll be using up. I can max everything, except the viewing distance. If I go any farther than "65" on viewing distance, I'm in the red. It goes to 100.

Meaning that the card is out of RAM, basically. Its telling me that I'll see crummy framerates since its going to be using up all of my video RAM. If you wanted to run the game on max, it says you would need 1444 MB of video RAM. And of course you are going to need more than that so you can have a little room to spare. Anyone else ever run into this? What card do they expect to be able to run this on max? "

Plenty of recent games exceed 1280MB VRAM at 1200p nowadays. Often 1.5GB isn't enough. I love the power of the 570, but IMO it needs more VRAM: 1.5 or 2GB.

Get a 2gb 6950, whichever is cheapest

Lol... Im still none the wiser now..

Some say yes the 570 with extra vram others 6950 etc.......

Im pretty much in the same position, and im swaying towards the buy button on the 570HD

2nd thoughts i think this is gonna be for me.

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6970 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE DIRT3 & Deus Ex PC Game [11187-00-40R]

Ive read that you can overclock the 6950 to nearly the same speeds as a 6970 so would it be better to do that and save yourself £60??

Just a thought as that was one of the things i was contemplating doing...

Who'd have thought it was this hard to select and buy a GPU ....

i went with the toxic as most unlock to 6970s and i got mine for 225 and as fast as a 570gtx little quicker which unlock and overclock
