Which gfx card?

Would a 970 fit into antec 300?

Once payday arrives, thats when I will buy new gpu. Atm I'm keen on the GTX 780, but if a 970 can fit into my case then I may push for that.

Treat myself to a graduation present haha (eventhough I brought an SSD for that lol)

Most 970s are pretty small due its modest TDP and cooling requirements. There are even mini-ITX-sized 970s available. Just give the ones with tri-fan coolers a miss if you're concerned. There are plenty of great dual-fan solutions available, like those from EVGA, Palit and MSI.

@thegentry, wow! That is a bargain! Tempting, but its just the warranty is only for 90days. Sometimes its good to take a risk

No..this 390 is a bargain. Don't bother with a B grade.

also has 8gb, better dx12 support and a bit faster than a 970. even matches the 980 in many newer games like sw:battlefront (equivalent to 290x in the following link)

The only problem about that card fs123 is the size of it, might not be able to fit into my Antec 300.

I do like AMD as well, my AMD 6850 at the moment is playing battlefield 4 on medium/high settings at around 40-60fps. I did unpark my CPU's to give me more fps tbh.

The 390 is 29CM in length and the MSI 970 is 27CM.
The case is always a problem unless you do what I did and went for a larger case that can handle any gpu and any motherboard. Sorts the hassle once and for all.
The case you have is pretty basic and even the cheaper £20-£30 cases now have better designs.

Personally I'd get a new case and a new card. I once got a B grade motherboard and it had the IO plate missing and some of the cpu pins were slightly bent but it did work. I sent it back straight away. A b grade gpu would have been returned for some reason or other but seriously is a risk if it had some underlying fault. If buying used you might as well look for a cheaper 970/290X.

I've got a b-grade 290 from OverClockers in my rig and havent had any problems with it. The90 days warranty should be enough to identify any faults.

However, I agree that the new 390 is a better deal.

Yes I do feel that upgrading my case will be a worthy little investment because it is limiting me. Obviously I'd want the best possible gpu for my budget and not be affected because of not having enough space.

I might wait an extra month of saving and then buy the case and gpu together. The cases I have seen

Good idea.
The old antec is worth peanuts so why not cut the section out for a gpu while you save up for a new case ;)

Stulid that is a nice case! I like the idea how the storage drives will be hidden. I'd probably by an external optical drive as well if I somehow need to run a disk.

Fs123, that is another option I have thought about, I don't use the top 3.5bays anyway.

Everyone has been fantastic with their advise and i want to thank you all!
