Hi All,

I've ordered the Insanity Gamer pro Intel Core i5 3570K 3.40GHz @ 4.20GHz http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-326-OE&groupid=43&catid=2385&subcat=

and have upgraded to include a Samsung 840 250GB HDD.

When OCUK open on Wednesday I was also going to upgrade the GPU to HIS HD 7970 3072MB but at http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18474267 I have been advised against it because of possible noise problems and to try the HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-065-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1673 instead.

I have also realised that I can get a GTX 670 for roughly the same price and was thinking of the KFA2 GeForce GTX 670 EX OC 2048MB or EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2048MB.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I got the EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2048MB and its a fantastic GPU and very quiet. Also, EVGAs customer service are know to be very good if you need support. :)

I've spent all day reading reviews of graphics cards and have narrowed a firm list down to 4 Gigabyte GPU's.

I will decide in morning when I ring OC and see what additional cost each of these four will be:

Pref Name Price £
1 Gigabyte 7970 GHz Ed Windforce 3X £ 350
2 Gigabyte 7970 Windforce 3X £ 320
3 Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 3X £ 336
4 Gigabyte 7950 Windforce 3X £ 240

thanx to those that replied

The 7950 is the sweet spot for higher tier graphics cards. Same/better performance than the 670 (and less than 5% slower clock for clock against the 7970) for about £80 less.
