Which GPU (or GPU's) for 4k?

I have a Rampage 4 Extreme fully watercooled with 4930k running at 5ghz Ht-on 24/7 in a 900D case with the finest watercooling components that money can buy, the best!

Like i said though 4k is expensive and not worth it atm if you want good framerates.
What are good framerates? 20, 60, 100,??
Depends on the person, to me id want 4k at 120h IPS standard cause im running that standard now at 1440p. 60hz compared 120hz is like a slideshow, even moving around windows lol. Even 100hz is loads better than 60hz slideshow.
Not only that but the 4k displays now are crap compared to what will be out in 12 months or more.

4k at 120hz will need some serious Power for a constant 120fps in all games. We dont really have that power at a fair price but we will do when Maxwell surfaces.

Can we see the pictures please.

IPS panels are built better, and the viewing angles are also still better, the colours are again also better, but I'd happily go back to a TN panel in all honesty. A lot of the people using IPS panels for gaming just tout pure snobbery. It's not 2005 any more. TN is better for gaming.

Been looking into this for a bit. Any 1440p 120hz available in the UK is tn panel anyway (even the ASUS ROG SWIFT) and unless you are a photographer, image editor, watching films etc then you dont need ips for image reproduction.

For myself, late night gamer with the brightness turned down as my eyes are tired and whilst sat directly infront of monitor, a modern tn panel will be great.

Upon reading owners reports such as Gregster's, I think the tn 4k is a steal. Kudos to getting one early from abroad. My trigger finger will succumb when the sammy goes in stock at OCUK.

Roll on late May.

You lot sound butt hurt 60hz is a slideshow in my experience, go ask any 120hz user lol at the end of the day its an opinion guys, something that you guys find hard to accept.:D

And kapp what pictures do you want to see, dont you beleive me? What pictures would you like to see for me to prove you wrong? Specifics?

In my opinion an early adopter of of 4k now is a fool. You will see why in 12 months time.

Also 120hz IPS G-sync monitors at 1440p are on the way also.

I would like to know your BIOS settings if you don't mind :) All sounds like a weak chatup line if you ask me ;)

Its not the bios settings, i have a golden cpu which i made a thread about. It was my 3rd one that i bought from ocuk before i got a good one. Go read it before implying that i dont have it or do you want me to take some pictures to prove you wrong like that other guy kappy?

I am a 120hz user (Samsung S27A950D) and I quite happily play the majority of my non fps games on my big screen tv at 60hz, without feeling it is anyhting close to a slideshow.

Well i can see a difference and so do many others. You may not see what i see and i may not see what you see. I couldnt go back to 60hz as TO ME its a slideshow even when moving around windows. Anyhow im off out for the day with my family, if any pictures need posting ill do them when i get back later this evening, happy easter.

Can I borrow your crystal ball.
The other way to look at it is that early adopters get the benefit of 4K for 12 months and then upgrade anyway, because that is what early adopters do.

Wasn't there a few screenshots of BF4 at 4K with a 7870XT running medium settings for playing fps around ~40?

Do people really need to max out AA and tessellation + effects/physics before finding a game enjoyable?

Surely a single 780 or 290 can handle that and others at High settings, forgoing Ultra/Extreme and lots of AA?

This sounds impressive

Most people who build a PC know what pics to post to show the rest of us. They also don't tend to get upset when you ask them to post a few pics.

Gregsters review was much appreciated.
I'll be picking up a Samsung brilliant value when ocuk have them ;)
Also people might choose to pick up the 144hz G sync monitor as well, best of both worlds.
Then upgrade in 12 months when the gpu's and monitors have improved!

Slide show is a gross exaggeration, from my personal experience the image quality on my dell is beautiful, and the pace for such games as bf4 on my benq is awesome!

You seemed so quick to hate! The 4k and the sammy
But in your own words
"Considering I have a Rampage 4 Extreme fully watercooled with 4930k running at 5ghz Ht-on 24/7 in a 900D case with the finest watercooling components that money can buy, the best!"
Shouldn't be a problem to pick one up and try it for yourself, how can u dismiss something you've not even tried!!!???
