Which graphics card to get on a £450 budget?

There's no particular rush at the minute I'm just looking at my options.

I've always had nVidia cards before as in the past they seem to have out performed somewhat but now AMD are right up there so I thought it would be best to not go blindly into buying something and doing some research first.

7990 if you can find one. Best bang for buck at 450.

Otherwise, get a 780 and put the rest away for the next generation :)
 
Right if there is no rush, I strongly suggest you wait a month or two and see what news we get regarding gpus's especially the 290/290x non references. There are many who are awaiting on such new such as myself. If I am disappointed or not happy with it (which i really doubt would happen) then i'd be getting a 780 out of the ones I listed above in this thread.

Patience will serve you good especially when spending good money but having an idea on peoples opinions and options is fine and surely does help as you know what to look out for
 
If you're not in a rush to buy now then definitely hold on for the end of January. Cooler versions of the 290 seem guaranteed, plus there may be games included, all of which could also lead to further price reductions for Nvidia.
