Been out of the loop with graphics cards for a while. But wanting to start using my PC again for gaming (been using my PS4 lately).

Currently have no card after selling my 390X 6 months ago.

Budget is around £200-230.

Would prefer an AMD card as I have a Freesync monitor. But would be open to NVIDIA if there is a noticeably better card for the same budget.

Something that can handle 1440p at decent framerates would be nice.

Cheers

I would be prepared to sacrifice not using Freesync for the right NVIDIA card, if the card was noticeably better.

I don't know if i'd call it 'noticeably' better, generally speaking its a little better in the usual benchmarks but nothing you are likely to be noticing in the real world gaming. You would probably get the 6GB 1060 for the same money though so really depending on the games you play the freesync might be a nice to have.

Edit: Kaaps right but its gone now so too late ;)

If you have a freesync monitor, i suggest you use the technology as you already have it.
I hate that atm we have to be stuck with either brand, but hey ho i went the gsync way - no ragrets
