Hello,

I’m about to order one of the ‘green’ hard drives, mainly for .mkv back up (I assume there all quick enough for streaming 1080p?), basically are there any major differences between the brands? I normally get Samsung harddrives, any reason not to for the green versions? (not sure if I’ll get 1 or 1.5TB yet)

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

I also favor samsung drives and wouldnt hesitate in going for one of the new F2 drives...the spindle is 5400rpm but because of the technology they apparently run just as fast as a 7200 rpm

Thanks for the response, I’ve gone for the Samsung 1TB Green, I suppose it’s down to brand choice and not a lot between the brands...

Either the WD Green or the Samsung F2 Green. Both are good buys and as you like Samsung's I'd say stick with them. They've very similar in performance and abilities.
