which guitar hero game ?

Hello , im looking into getting a guitar hero game ,but with so many on the market im not sure which to get. im after a pack that obviously includes the guitar and game not just a game , i want one that includes a lot of the old britpop/rock stuff if possible, like oasis, blur, radiohead and the like

so which version should i be looking at ?

EDIT: for xbox 360 btw :)
 
i loved GH3 though i havent played GH4, i think the bands your looking at are available as dlc, but they could be on GH4 only not sure
 
GH3 looks good, can you get DLC for all version of GH or are certain packs only released for certain games ? would a pack released for world tour be also downloadable for GH3 ?

gh3 + guitar pack is cheapest entry point @ ~£50 - not much in the way of britpop - very few of these songs about tbh.

GHWT + guitar is ~£60 and I didn't enjoy it so much (not finished...)

Either way would be fine to get a guitar and game. Personally I'd recommend a wireless guitar (apparently all you can buy separately), Rock Band 2 and some MS Points to buy songs to your taste from the rock band store.

RB has over 600 songs available which should help you find something you'll like :) Definately has Beetlebum and an Oasis pack to keep you happy :) (Oh and Journey! :D)
 
haha yeah , well i just got my little girl "lips" and now im reading with an april update those wireless mics will work with RB2 ? so i may get RB2 and a guitar but just had a quick look at the songs on there and it doesnt really appeal to me :(

That list of songs for RB is DLC only! :)

RB 2 On Disc Songs

GH3 DLC

A word of warning GH3 DLC is NOT forwards compatible with GHWT with the exception of the Metallica album 'Death Magnetic'

All RB DLC is cross compatible between games.

thanks Psymonkee, some good info there unfortunately it hasnt help make my mind up lol

Ive had a look now at serveral games and to be honest the sound tracks just dont appeal to me, so i guess i want the game that has the biggest selection of DLC so i can i can just DL the songs that i like
 
I like GH3 better than ghwt.
I bought both for the ps3 and only really use the GH3 guitar controller as the ghwt controller doesn't seem as good and double strums a lot :( also GH3 has some good tracks :)

I got gh3+guitar for 35 at christmas so I'm sure it is a lot cheaper than gh:wt+controller.
 
yup ive just been looking and so far RB is the best one ive seen for DLC they got some good oasis tracks and a couple of good "the killers" tracks

just a couple of questions to clarify , if i bought RB2 will all RB1 DLC be compatible with it ?

and if i just bought the RB2 game (no instruments) and then bought a seperate wireless guitar will i still be able to play the game properly even tho RB2 was ment to have a full set of drums and that ?
 
There is no RB1/RB2 DLC - it's all just listed as 'RB DLC' and is fully cross compatible :)

If you buy RB2 Solus then you can use any of the instruments on the market. GH3 Les Paul's (wireless) seem to be the most popular :)
