Which Handheld Console?

The Vita is a nice piece of hardware but the games just don't stand out, they're just versions of games that have been released recently on PS3 etc.

Id rather play HD collections on the Vita than released versions of recent PS3 games.

I've been thinking this too... I love Nintendo games but I have a playstation Eco system at the moment.

I waiting to see if there's a ps4 & vita bundle or at least the vita slim to come out (thou the phat is better) and using my psp in the meantime.

Going to pick up a Vita today

Vita + 8gb memory card/10 game bundle

Really looking forward to it :)

I have a real urge to buy one today also lol

My oldest is also looking a 3ds for xmas thinking of buying the red Pokemon 3dsxl one also

I'm pretty much picking up a 3DS for Pokemon X/Y, suppose it comes down to the type of games you like

It's pretty much a split in my honest opinion. If you like Nintendo games then go with the 3DS, vice versa. However, I also find that Nintendo games are of a more pick up and play nature, where as PSP/Vita games are the more lengthy sessions.

so it's also what type of gamer you are, I prefer to just spend 20m sometimes, and an hour or so when I have some free time.

Good choice! if you have a PS3 or getting a PS4 make sure to get PS+ it's such good value, actually it may be worth getting even if you don't have the other 2.

Ok I really don't know what wrong with me, coming 32 in March and looking forward to the new Pokemon game.

Now the 3ds are for my two daughters but I will be getting plenty of play time on them.

Wanted Vita because am so caught in the sony hype atm and laterally ****ing myself waiting for PS4.

I was never this exited for any other consoles

8 GB is less than I thought, I had Wipeout, Sf x Tekken and Uncharted on there with about 100mb spare. I have deleted uncharted to make room so I can have more than 3 games.

Going to have Wipeout, Sf x Tekken, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank Size Matters and Motorstorm RC on there if it all fits...

Btw how are you meant to open the game cover thingie for the game cards? I'm a fingernail picker so I need a pen I think lol.

Very pleased with the quality of the games so far, Wipeout is harder than I remember and Sf x Tekken which I got with ps plus is great and I just got my ass handed to me by a ryu/sagat player lol.

I have to get a credit card out of my wallet ever time I switch games!

8gb isn't a lot, but you can delete and install games as you like through PSPlus really. I have 8gb, and find it ok, but would like a bit more. Uncharted is one of the biggest games, I deleted it myself last night...I got a fair way in it, but I don't really like the Uncharted games, and it was taking up too much space.

Nice haul mate ^

Ive got my 3ds xl arriving tmorrow so need to look into games, im getting animal crossing as it looks rather odd and addictive! Never played one but like that sort of thing

Fire emblem looks like a winner and maybe the upcoming X or Y

Any other games people would recommend? Maybe rpgs? Monster hunter looks interesting but i dont know anyone else to do co op with local and not played one before

Thanks

Cheers
The LTD editions are the best looking handhelds I have ever seen. Lovely artwork then a nice matt black round the controls and screens. Was a little jealous when I opened them to have a peak :D

Animal Crossing may end your social life. Especially as it is in real time so if you want to go to shops etc (in game) you have to do it before they close at night.

I've had a Vita since launch and enjoyed it. However, the games available just don't fit with what I want from a handheld system.
I only really want to play RPGs because I tend to just play for short bursts during breaks at work from time to time or other similar situations.

So I've bought a 3DS XL. For RPGs and pick up and play games it's got a lot more to offer but the Vita is certainly a much better piece of hardware.

Personally I won't have much use for a handheld at all soon so I'll likely sell them both. My plan is to play the hell out of 3DS until PS4 hits. Play as many of the exclusive games as possible and the new pokemon. Then sell it on late November.

The Vita I'll probably sell this week as there is nothing due out for it between now and PS4.

If you can I'd get both though but Vita should get more interesting soon.

I wouldnt bank on the 'mature' games on the vita. There is quite a few touchy feely games on the vita which I consider to be 'DS-y'.

The vita is fantastic hardware and does have a few brilliant games. I think it is a slow boil- hopefully Mercenaries and Batman will pave the way for more AAA style games on the vita.
