Which handheld to get (no troll)

The mistake they made was releasing stuff like Assassins Creed and CoD for the Vita at the same time as the 'proper' games on the consoles. Yes, it saves them money in advertising because they can just tack the Vita games on to the ad and promotional material, but it meant the Vita versions were mostly ignored, and people are unlikely to want to purchase a game for their 360/PS3 as well as their Vita at the same time.

Nah the main mistake was releasing a CoD game that was horrible and expecting it to sell on name alone.

Does it though? There's only around 2-3 million Vita's worldwide compared to over 22 million 3DS's. If you were a publisher would you release a game with a potential audience of 22 million or 3 million?

Depends how you look at it, you could release on both and have a 25 million audience.

Publishers did not ditch 360 and PS3 and just say oh the Wii has the biggest audience.

And expecting to Vita to sell just because its a powerful handheld gaming device.

It's the PSP situation all over again, looks like Sony still haven't learned from nearly 8 years ago. Only difference now, it's not only Nintendo in the handheld market but Andriod and iOS too with mobile games. And there not even seen as competitors but still way ahead in the handheld market without even trying.

Just use you mobile phone like everyone else nowadays.

The only handheld console that still has a market I think will be Nintendo's, for the kids who are too young to own mobile phones.

Sorry but thats bull lol.

I have a Galaxy Nexus II, capable of gaming quite well, and its nothing compared to a dedicated device. Most the games that hit the android market are awful, People tout Shadow run as a brilliant game for Android, Have you played it?? Its hilarious! Best thing about mobile gaming is emulation capabilities. PS1 mainly. Outside of that, its at best a 2 minute distraction. Rather than a proper gaming experience.

Yes, they are going in the right direction, I'm under the impression that Walking Dead is coming to android soon. Which is brilliant news!

But an all out replacement?? No way. Vita and Nintendo still have a real place on the market.

I'm not saying the Vita is a horrible console, I've still got mine, what I'm saying is Sony have handled it completely wrong and it's selling horribly with hardly any publishers supporting it.

I agree 100% about on how Sony have handled it and the lack of support but right now I would still recommend a Vita over a 3DS (I say that owning both). I would buy a Vita second hand, get a PS+ subscription which should keep you going for at least a few weeks of gaming, pick up some of the quality games as well as some of the PSN titles for the PSone or PSP and you've got heaps of gaming for not much cost.

If the Vita does start to wane then you'll be able to sell it to some unsuspecting type and by that point the 3DSXL will be cheaper (and might even come with a charger) as well as having a big library of second hand older games.

Hah I'm a retard, I was posting on my phone and quoted the wrong person! :D

I meant to quote the guy who said just do what everyone else does and play games on your phone. Sorry man!
