hey guys, been using IDE drives forever now and im making the jump to all the new stuff, pci e ddr2 etc etc and wondered what hdd i should get coz im gettign really confused with all these different types, sata2 etc.

Basically im getting the fatality m-atx board, yes i know its lame with all the branding but its the best option to overclock right now for m-atx

On the spec it says: SATA 3G RAID

so basically id like a quiet hdd (was thinking samsung) 80 -120gb to be compatable. Help me.

Thanks

What Smids said, although I tend to prefer WD over Hitachi. SATA2 is a bit of a red herring really. Any modern SATA drive should support the 300MB/s (or 3Gb/s - they both mean the same thing) interface speed and NCQ. They're the main things to look for.

And in my personal opinion, 16MB cache does make a difference - not much, but it's good for bursting etc. Don't let it decide on a drive, but do take it into account.
