I use my headphones every day so putting them in and out of a drawer is an inconvenience I could live without.
The reason behind the headphone stand for me personally is convenience. When I want to listen to music I simply lift the headphones off the stand.
None of this drawer nonsense you are going on about

I found another use for a Yoshi model I have on my desk last night (like this one http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31V0KYdE1CL._SL500_AA280_.jpg). My headphones sit on his head quite well. They are a little big but they sit nice and firm and it looks pretty funny. I'll get a picture up later

Sorry for the megabump, but I found this thread when looking for ideas about a headphone clip / stand for my HD555s and thought someone might be interested in what I found as a solution.
Anyway I found this little gem, cost £34.95 from an organic consumer products company in London. It's Sichuan bamboo from China. Whaddya reckon?
Only kidding. I couldn't bring myself to spend £18 on the piece of plastic that Sennheiser offers as a solution (see gurusan's picture above), so went hunting round the house for an answer. The garden gave me a bamboo dowel, then there's black electrical tape wrapped around the outside. Ideally I wanted a black rubber foot to fit over the end, but no donors were available. There was already a hole in the wall from a previous monitor installation, so I just used that.
Any clever ideas for headphone mounts on the cheap are most welcome!

I personally use a banana stand which cost me around a fiver. What do you think?

I have a desk with drawers that have knobs, I sometimes hang my headset on the top drawer knob.
