Up until recently i had a 'Sumvision Aqua' IDE HDD media enclosure. The output crapped out and i couldn't use it with my TV anymore.

I still had the IDE drive, and looking for another media drive. Sumvision have discontinued the Aqua and only have the Titan (SATA) left.

So i was wondering if anyone knows and recommends any other media enclosures? My budget reaches about £50 max, as the aqua was 35 and i don't want to splash out a lot because i just don't have the cashola.

Thanks.

Mvix, the best media player that are out atm, a tad exspensive tho Search Mvix and you'll find it. I have the MVIX MV-5000R, but the best player on the market is a Mvix MX-780 HD and heres everthing about it.

The mvix you have reaches about £90, even more for the HD version, which is a little over the budget.

There are some unbranded ones on sites and auction sites which are about 25-30 each - are they pretty much guaranteed to be rubbish?

There's also a NEWLINK branded square, looks apple mac-like and is £40 from a competitor - any good?

What software / codec are you using for mkv to avi ?

I have been looking for a zero quality loss solution for ages

AllToAVI. you can adjust picture, and sound qual so the file size the stays the same as the original file, or you can have it larger or smaller depending what options you change.

I would be lost without my media player now. Messing about with dvds are a thing of the past.
