Any that you recommend with that in mind?Any half decent one will be silent at the wattage level this build will consume.
Most don't turn on the fan until they are pulling at least 200W.
I'd be wary of a bronze rated one if used much as the efficiency can be very poor and especially at low wattage.
I'd rather pay more for a better PSU and it might payback the difference in reduced running costs over time.
If you might want to add a GPU down the line, choose one that is fanless until 300W or so.
I have, see page 2Have you decided on a case/motherboard format?
It has some bearing on the PSU, like if you went with Lian Li's A3, a compact PSU like Phanteks AMP GH is better if going ATX. If you're going ITX, it may require SFX.
The Corsair PSU I listed is 140mm in length...is it a decent PSU?Ah.
Says max length: 165mm. That's not very much, but I assume it doesn't include cables, in which case most PSUs would fit.
Exactly!!PC parts buying is always a story of oh just a little bit more and...... that's how I end up spending thousands despite starting with modest intentions![]()
I have been out of the upgrading route for a very long time...as always, the devil is in the detail
I see, thanks....They all make varying grades of rubbish. Not that the RMe is rubbish, it just isn't a top pick.
ThanksAny reputable one will be fine except the bargain basement ones (eg don't get the crucial e100)
Thanks...it's 7yr old though. There's a spreadsheet on newmaxx's reddit which can be helpful to compare:

Ok, ta....It is updated frequently, but some of the newer models don't have complete entries.
