Which Intel CPU for Vista Media Center PC?

I've got a Celeron 420 in my media center pc at the moment. Used to have a E2140 and the only difference between running the 2 cpu's is that the dual core cpu loaded windows quicker. Once in media center I haven't noticed any difference.

Depends on what you do in your media center. If you have dual tuners that are often recording, whilst your watching a DVD for example, then the old Celeron will be pushing it.

For the sake of £45, I really dont see the point of Celerons anymore, A E2140 would actually run cooler too.

look i'd like to take a cheap celeron cause i also have to buy me an laptop and than you know each cent that i can save on this media pc i can use on that laptop!!

I would put my skystar 2 card in this media pc and would use this pc for web surfing,e-mails,listening music,div-x and editing pictures,..no games,....so i'd thought an celeron could do the job!!
would a celeron run vista and if yes which one,..home premium or ultimate???
(i would prefer ultimate)

do you use windows vista or XP in your media pc ???

best to just get the e2140, very small price difference (£10 or so?) and much faster, and uses less power. home premium is best, u dont need the ultimate only features for a media centre.

thank you,...i also thought that i should go for one of the E2xxx CPU,but i thought if an celeron would work fine id save a bit of money!!!!
thanks once again!!
