Which iPad 2?

I would like to buy my wife an iPad 2 from our sons for Mother's Day. Is the basic 16GB model sufficient, or will she really need 64GB?

I have happily survived two years with a 16gb unit. Would 64gb be better, hell yeah, but the cost difference to me isn't worth it.

I have all my usual apps, loads of comics and mags, I don't keep a load of games on it, but do occasionally stick half a dozen or so tv shows on it if I am travelling.

Sorry, I should have explained that her use is limited to web browsing and listening to The Archers on iPlayer. We know how to party

16GB will be fine, you only need more if you want to put a bunch of stuff on it like games, apps, photos and so on.

Maybe for your wife but I found 16gb a nightmare, always had to delete apps and had no photos on it or music. I had to wipe the thing just to update it as it wanted a ridiculous amount of GB free to update

Why don't they sell a 32GB version?

I hope it's going to be OK. I want her to enjoy using it, not for it to be a drama. I can return it for the 64GB version if needed?

yeah most online places have decent returns policies, amazon is about 30 days if you keep it in good condition.

Just remember that the 16gb actually only has 11gb of storage, that will rapidly disappear when you start putting apps, photos & videos on it and as said above over the air ios updates need a lot of free space. Unless you're absolutely sure it's only ever going to be used for streaming & web browsing then i would get the 64gb. And it seems a bit of a waste of its capabilities if that's all it will do.

If you want to take it on a trip and put some videos on it, or games for your kids then 11gb really won't go very far at all.
