Shame they didn't anodise the banding on the white model.

The black looks much cleaner and as a result I'm going back to black.
 
The thing that annoys me with the current white iPhones is that once you get the slightest bit of dirt or fluff in the home button it stands out like a sore thumb.

As the phone is built back to front you have to take apart everything to remove the home button, which means you're stuffed.

I have to baby my home button now as I've seen some people's phones and they look like someone smeared crap in the hole :p

I have a white S2, its a uphill battle to keep it clean, hate how the tiny tiny dust looks so bad, I tend to get a pin and clean around the rim once a week. Never again, black all the way.
 
I had a white 4S and I loved it because it didn't look dirty, I never had issues with fluff or anything like that but because EVERYONE was buying white iPhones I thought I'd go for black this time.

BUT the shiny metal looks so great to me. For me if its made of metal you may as well show it off and not tint it and hide it.

It's more natural in white and silver to me. Clearly we can't wait and see in store if you want it guaranteed on release day so I'm leaning towards white right now but if the apple store keeps crashing I may just get whatever goes through!

I'm also going to go 32GB because the £70 price difference will add lots more to resale value next year.

Also guys remember do NOT buy your phone with any accessories as that may slow it down. Buy the phone and then buy the accessories afterwards - that way neither will be slowed down by any delays.

iPhone 5 - you guessed it...Black

Had the iPad 2 in white though and thought it looked a bit girly.
 
Said i was going to go for white again this time around. Had a normal iPhone, White 3GS, Black iPhone 4 but i much prefer the Black/Slate.

Looks lovely!
 
After not having any choice on the first iPhone I went with white on the 3G because it looked snazzy :D
Didn't have any choice when the 4 first came out, so that was black.
When the 4S came out I jumped at the chance to have it in white again.

Must say that, of all of them, the white 4S was my favourite.

I'm definitely leaning toward the 5 in white, but I'm not decided.

Good thing is that this is the first launch where I've lived near an Apple Store (two in fact), so I'll have a good ogle at them in person before deciding :)
 
Voted black, the only trouble with the black is if the black anodizing on the bezel get damaged it will look like crap.
 
I voted black but I'm seriously thinking white now. I'm really liking the look of the white and I never thought I'd hear myself say that.

It also seems the white doesn't have the scuff problems either, or they aren't as pronounced.
 
Does the estimated 3-4 on the apple store also apply to phones sold directly through th networks? I'm due an upgrade from orange. Going to pop into my local orange store tonight to see what they'll offer (after I've popped into the apple store to see them in the flesh have a play.

EDIT. Doh just realised I posted this in the wrong thread.
