Which is faster? (OC'd i7 vs OC'd Phenom II)

Nope, don't buy that for a minute. Either you had a terribly misconfigured and barely working Intel setup (if you really did have an i7 system) or you are wildly exaggerating to justify your own purchase.

Just about every comparison ever performed (with evidence to back up their claims) has shown the i7 to be better in most ways to anything AMD have to show for themselves.

Even the 2500k is more than a match for anything AMD have to offer,

currently run an overclocked 1055T, feels no faster or slower than compatriots 2600K machine, hell feels the exact same to use, in gaming there is no difference at all, period, he gets X frame-rate, I get X frame-rate because gaming is generally GPU dependant. but for everyday use there is no difference to speak of because both are so fast in everyday tasks, the differences will be so incredibly tiny that its not worth even mentioning. ;)

Edit: and as an AMD user I totally agree with the comment above as well, the current generation of Intel processors are superior to the current generation of AMD processors, Bulldozer at the moment is the same story but that is another discussion altogether!

Is this serious question or what ??

i7 Wipes floor with phenom. I know cos i have phenom.....

God I hate intel and there "i" cpu's the fanboys are nearly as bad as them weird PS3 lot.... :D

The PS3 lot are smarter, like the Intel lot. :D (makes me super smart! somehow...)

But I think the i7 even at stock speeds can beat the best AMD can throw at it.

Some people claim the AMD CPUs are smoother for gaming - but atleast as far as GPU output goes frametime comparisons have shown no significantly more consistant frametimes on either.

As far as gaming goes there are only a few games where you will see any real world difference between any recentish CPU (unless you have a high end multi GPU setup) but the intel is undisputedly the better buy if your looking for some future proofing.
