which is fastest

at the moment i have 2 hard drives 160gb wd ide and a 200gb maxtor sata1 (failing of course) just got an asus a8n sli deluxe so was thinking maybe getting a couple of smaller sata2 drives and raiding them for the boot drive and keeping the others as slaves , which would be fastest and is it really that much faster than just one large sata2 and no i cant afford raptors

dont bother. Its not that much faster and twice as likely to fail and when it does, you loose everything.

Agree, If you want fast Hd access then grab some 10k SATA's or 15k SCSI single drives.
