Need a little help in deciding which isp to use for gaming manly ps4 and xbone using sky unlimited at the moment started to get stutter in games so going to up grade to fibre which provider is best .and what speeds do you recommend.

Keep the Sky, and get the fibre through them.
I wouldn't trust Virgin with a barge pole for gaming, you don't even if have to be living in a student area any more to get their **** piece internet speeds EVEN on fibre. Much better to be on BT's infrastructure.

You should theoretically get better latency over FTTC with Sky/BT rather than Virgins cable, but usually Virgin can offer you higher speeds so there's that..

Not been with them long and have only really played a bit of BF4 whilst with them but Plusnet seem decent so far. I'm pretty lucky in that I'm in London and only about 800m from the exchange but I regularly get single digit pings on UK servers and seems pretty solid so far.
I believe they also do a £5p/m thing where you can get gaming traffic prioritised, along with some other bits but at the moment I can't see what difference that would make for me.
Never used Virgin myself but have heard enough horror stories to put me off. I've gamed with people on it, who on a say a Friday evening, just gave up trying to play because of traffic shaping, throttling etc. Though this is all second hand info.

I am just about to move to a fibre enabled area and kind of have a similar question, will 38 down and 2 up be ok for gaming or should I go for 44 down and 9 up. Sorry for hijacking the thread OP
