Hi all. I'm looking for a nice new case, I've had my brushed Lian Li PC65 now for so many years, maybe 10+ and it's starting to show its age a wee bit. I'm looking for a new case and love the looks of the Obsidians, but which would you say would be better for my spec system?

thx in advance

I love the 650D the clips to take off the window look tidy.

750D or a 600T is my next case.

it'll be air cooled Matrix with cathodes, got lots of Noctuas to fit in as well lol. Im just fed up trying to manage all the cables in this case now, space is all a bit tight and messy with a few case mods as well.

and now the 760T and 730T is being considered lol.

Just watched a review of the 600, what a lovely case. Might even order it now and give myself a weekend project ;)

My choice would be the 750D, excellent build quality and lots of room with good features like the vertically mounted 2.5" caddies.

thx Demon, really really like this 600T after seeing the reviews.

I have blue cathodes and leds so that might look really nice with the white case.

Only problem you'll find with the 600T is the window will make cracking noises when the temperature of the case changes as the perspex window expands/contracts.

This is a select issue however and a good few people with 600T's have no problems but just making sure you are aware.

Out of all of them I personally would pick the 750D as I prefer the looks of the new corsair cases.

For air cooling, although not an obsidian case the Air 540 is worth having a look at.

No problem, glad to help.

Corsair make great cases the reason why I didn’t suggest the 600T is because it is now an old design at 3 and half years old.

Things have changed since then most significantly the advancement in watercooling and the commercial use of SSDs, which the 750D copes with very well, the ability to remove all of the HDD bays and use the 5.25" for a 3.5” hard drive or two allows for massive unrestricted airflow through the front of the case.

How good are the 140mm case fans in the 750D guys? Quiet and good airflow? Only reason I ask, is in my current Lian Li, I have 3 80mm Noctuas, and 2 120mm Noctuas. I just love these fans, so quiet its unreal. I'm hoping to be able to use these somehow in a future build but if those 140mm fans in the 750D are good, the Noctuas might become redundant as there looks to be no way of mounting the 80mms in that case.

The three 140mm fans provided with the 750D are pretty good.

If you like your 120mm fans and dont want to change, stick with them and put them in the front or bottom of the case.

If you decide to remove the hard drive bays for better airflow i suggest two 120mmm fans in the bottom and two 120mm highstatic/pressure fans in the front like the dual pack ones I have linked to below.

With regard to 80mm fans if I am honest they don't quite cut it with today's technology. CPU and GPUs run much hotter than they used to and 80mm fans do not offer the performance of a 120mm or 140mm fan which can push more air at a lower noise level.
