Which Joystick for BF3?

Yes a 360 pad works in BF3.

Only problem I have with the 360 pads though is I cant seem to invert the sticks, makes flying a pain.

Found the 360 pad support to be a bit hit n miss. It works, but noticed in some scenes in single player campaign when requested to press [space] it doesn't always register.

Still, kinda works and better then nothing I guess...

I went from a extreme 3d pro to a thrustmaster hotas x, felt it was a downgrade tbh.

The stick didn't feel as good, wasn't as springy as I'd like. The extreme 3d pro feels like a much nicer item to use in my opinion.

I'm surprised the extreme 3d doesn't work in bf3, have you tried installing the drivers? Yes its plug and play in other games but perhaps the driver is required for bf3.

Worth a try, imo the hotas x feels very lightweight in comparison to the 3d pro. You might not mind, I like a stick that feels tight and responsive though.

Edit : ah should have read the whole thread, this has been resolved it seems.

The 3d pro does work in bf3, i recently bought the force feedback from ebay for £20.... best money i spent on a joystick tbh. Works flawlessly in BF3!!

Just hope it works for Arma 2

Hi matey, would you recommend the 3D over something like the Saitek Cyborg F.L.Y. 5 Flight Stick?

Personally…. Yes without a doubt!!

Reason is the 3d pro, particularly the forcefeed back feels a lot more “real”. For example, I find that I’m crashing a lot using other more upright joysticks like the F.L.Y 5 where as the 3d pro seems at the right angle and shaped to be able to pull off the more acrobatic and quick precision flying.

I bought a £90 X52 thinking it would be much better…. Wrong, thats more for flight sim games! I tried and tried to get used to it but I couldn’t!

Try your hardest to get the force feedback version as the more G’s you pull in BF3 the more resistance the stick gives, feels so much more real!

Seems my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro doens't work with the game.

Works fine for me

I found though that I had to go into the air vehicle/ground vehicle key mappings and delete EVERYTHING, save and then rebind what I wanted to the joystick.

I have found with games in general, if you have more than 1 peripheral that is not a mouse connected sometimes the game won't recognize any input.

Eg - joystick and steering wheel connected. sometimes a game will only recognize input from one of the devices or nothing from both.

I just solve this by unplugging the device I don't need for that game, then restart the game...bingo.

Not saying this is the underlying issue the OP is having, or if this solves it in BF3...but it does the trick in a lot of games.
