Which kit?

I'd like some expert advice about which kit would provide the best value before placing the order. I want to cool an i5 clocked to 4.6 in a Corsair 650D case. I know OcUK do a pre-built water cooled 650D case, but I'd like to have the satisfaction of building the loop myself :)

EK H3O Watercooling Kit - Supreme LT 240
EK H3O Watercooling Kit - Supreme HF 240

Both are pretty good kits so you would see similar performance :) The HF is a better block, but again the differences are only a few degrees - go with what budget allows.

In the LT 240 you only get:

- EK-DCP 2.2 Pump
- EK-Reservoir Combo DCP 2.2

In the HT 240 you get

- EK-DCP 4.0 (Pump)
- EK-Multioption RES X2 - 150 Basic

So the Res and the pump are bigger than the LT version of the kit as well as what s7en said previously regarding the the block

But if your only cooling CPU, it wouldn't matter. And to much power going to one block would scare the life out of it anyway.

Yeah I'd have to agree maybe in the future if you want to add more rads then go for a more powerful pump. If you're coming from air cooling you'll see substantial temp drops.

doesn't make that much of a difference ;)

But for a CPU only, there's pretty much no difference between kits.

OP,. if you plan to add anything else to the loop, then I'ce suggest one of the OcUK kits

I'm coming from a Corsair H60 all in one at the moment I only want to cool the cpu. At a later date I might want to add a block to my 560GTX card would that also need an additional rad?

You should see decent temps on a 240, but 360 is probably where you want to be if you are overclocking both.

That OcUK kit is way over budget plus I'm not sure if a 360 rad would fit in the case, I know you can't fit a bay res into those cases due to the drive locking mechanism. Just thinking I could fit a 240 rad in the top and in the future if I wanted to cool the gpu I could put a 120 rad on the rear fan mounting.

I have the EK-H30-Supreme 240 Cu and find that it cools the 2700k @5Ghz great and as you said you can always add a 120 rad to it. If you go for the 240 HF it will allow for future upgrades as it has a larger pump and Res. I will be adding a GPU full block soon so I will upgrade the Rad at that time.

Have a look at my previous thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18342603

nice, but would it be too late to persuade you to get an elysium with bigger rads? :D

Also, you may wat to get a tubing cutter :)

I'd need a bigger room to house that case :D I have added a tube cutter to the order, I thought afterwards that I'd be less likely to get leaks if the tube is cut cleanly :)

Can I ask, were they he cheap ones or the £9 ones?

The cheap ones will do literally nothing :)
The £9 ones are however excellent!
