Which one would you go for (i didnt list the manfuture as i thought this was against the rules.

Cheer's
Evilwood.

why, what i say is true. I have had many laptops for work (dell, HP, IBM Sony) all top of the line and they expensive (not that I pay for them) and crappy. poor/average performance, pain to carry around when travelling etc..

much better gettin a netbook, what do you need £1000+ laptop for? laptop is good for net and office, which a £300 netbook will easily do,
+ being small/light they are less of pain to be mobile.
No need for pseudo high spec laptop that just eats your battery and does nothing well.
With the remaining £700 you can build a desktop which will play games, video etc... which is much better and comfortable on a desktop, and when you have reached limits, you upgrade a component or two.

never said there weren't many ignorant people on the planet.

Think this recommendation is better, you get a lot more of everything ;) for same budget

Personally I'd get the third one evilwood; but lunarwolf has a point. You haven't stated a use for the machine but it's definitely my opinion that it's better to have a beast of a desktop and a portable laptop than putting all your eggs in one basket.

I have a 15'' Dell Inspiron 1520 and a behemoth desktop rig - both fulfill their intended purposes very nicely.
