Which memory do I need?

It's been so long since I built my PC that I've totally forgotten what RAM I need. I've got a socket 1156 MSI GD80 with a first generation core i5 CPU.

I'm still pretty happy with performance and don't feel the need to upgrade significantly, but would like to move from 4gb to 8gb memory. All I remember about my current memory is that it's dual channel GSkill Ripjaw, so what will I need to buy to upgrade it?

Ideally, I want something compatible with my current RAM so I can buy 2x4GB rather than two new 4GB sticks - I want to upgrade as cheaply as possible as there's not much point in dropping too much cash on such an old machine!

P55-GD80 - Supports Intel® i5 / i7 based processors in LGA1156 package. Intel® P55 Chipset, Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 1066/1333/1600*/1800*/2000*/2133* (OC) SDRAM, 16GB Max

you need to know current mem speeds and match accordingly to use current mem

Cheers. Is there any way to work out current speeds without opening her up? Been so long since I've done this!

Cpu-z tells me the stepping is 9 9 9 24, but I can't find the speed...

You should look for the highlighted line as the picture above and multiply the figure you found by 2, there you will have the current memory speed.
