Hi
I am currently running a opteron 1.8ghz processor at 2.7 ghz.The memory i have got is 2*512mb corsair3200 ddr400.
I want to upgrade my memory to 2gig of ram but maintaing my cpu clock speed at 2.7ghz.The ram ive got at the moment i cannot not get anymore,so i want to know which memory is best for letting me keep my cpu at this speed? I am after 2*1gb
Thanks in advance for any help given :)

I have 2gb mushkin xp4000 redline and can safely say it is without doubt the best ram i have owned, excellent timings with high fsb speed. Another option would be OCZ 4000eb, uses same chips as the mushkin. These kits are not cheap and can be hard to source (i imported my mushkin).

Your opty has a x9 multi and you need to reach ddr600 to keep you 2.7ghz overclock so would have to run a divider to reach ddr600 as i dont think there are 2gb kits that can run that fast. Either one of those kits will hit ddr600 on a 5/6 (333) divider as both are rated to ddr500.

AnandTech reviews for the Mushkin and the OCZ
