Which memory ram is actually better performing out of the two?

They will both perform the same at stock memory settings, since the timings and frequency are the same.

The difference is that the Vengeance is cheaper per GB, guaranteed to run at 1.5V (though the XMS3 kits are well known to work well at lower voltages too) and has large heatsinks (which can be a problem if you plan to use a large CPU heatsink).
