I'm same boat as you, however from reading around heard there are a lot of issues wuth the first board you suggested.

From what I read gigabyte seem to come out top ?

The Gigabyte is great, 1066/1333 chips have the 1:1 dividers now in the F7 bios. If you use a E2XXX/E4XXX chip you will need the better memory for overclocking, as the memory start at 266 for these chips.

G33m-DS2R, is the board I'm talking about.

yer looked on gigabyte spec sheet and the G33M-DS2R is the one for me i think! ;D

It really depends on what processor you're going to be using. If you're going for an 800FSB Core 2 chip, the P5K-VM is the better choice IMO.

Otherwise, i'd go for the G33M-DS2R. :)

The EVGA is probably the best performing mATX S775 motherboard currently available. It is seriously quick, and it overclocks superbly - even with quads.

Quick question, as this is classed as a 6 series chipset, will it be able to take Wolfdale chips?

It is not listed anywhere as being 45nm compatible, but as you can't currently buy a Wolfdale, that might be expected. I've seen reports of it being tested with Dual-core 45nm CPU's , but nothing with Quads.

If you want to buy a CPU and motherboard right now (not in 2 weeks time), this is the best overclocking motherboard you can get.

I got one myself - clocked my e2180 to 3000mhz with no probs - has full set of overclocking options - apart from memory voltage which is a pain :s Hopefully in a future bios update!!!!!

Oh very tempted to get that board, how do you find it then ?

Good onboard gfx and sound for HTPC setup ? Oh and what ram have you got ?

I have geil ultra 6400 2 Gig - but really its no point having anything better than geil value as you cant put more volts thru the RAM to increase timings - I had some Geil value and was o/c'ing fine with this board.

For the money you cant beat this board. I use it as a HTPC with an Antec Fusion case.

Also got the same rig - Antec fusion, got a c2d hopefully on it's way, now I need a mobo.
I'm still thinking about the Fatal1ty, purely because of the HDMI.

AHH - just noticed it has indeed HDMI!
Decisions... hmm to go for this one or the Fatal1ty...
