I'm finding it hard to justify a £200 Motherboard for my new build. Are there any cheaper options that will fit the following criteria:

I'm not initially looking to overclock.

Not interested in Cross Fire.

Will be going 3X2GB RAM for Tri Channel

Must have SPIDIF out for 5.1 Amp

RAID is important

The Biostar TPower X58 is a really sweet board, I owned a P6T Deluxe previously and think this is much better.

It's a monster for overclocking too.

The Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 is a great board for the money. It's not quite as consistent/clockable as the UD5 (according to forum banter - but there are some big clocks out there on the UD3) it now has Sli support (with latest BIOS) but it only has the 3 memory slots (which, isn't realy a problem for the average user).

Hi orange, go ud5+6GB 3x2GB Patriot well proven it's worth the money, your i7 will be begging to get overclocked 2.66 > 4GHz. I know it's hard to justeify the money but in the end when your CPU is at 4GHz, you think yer with :D across your face that's  it did to this oldphart. I spent £1388 base unit+mouse & mat, bay adpter, ssd adapter, already had a good monitor but this time it's got to last afew year's maybe upgrade the GFX card now and then. But at the end of the day it's upto you m8, just giving you my thought's. ;)

Hi mate.

I had added all the parts to the shopping cart for the i7/UD5/6GB Pat etc then hit Checkout and it had gone up by £30. I know TWO changes but I added them when they were at one price so it's seem wrong for the price to go up one click later.

Phoned the shop but they wont budge so have sent a webnote. If they won't budge I'll spend the £700 somewhere else.

If your budget is back up to £200 then the UD5 is a proven MB at that price range. (But if your budget drops again the UD3 is a very capable board for the money.)
