I'm about to upgrade my system due to a mobo dying and will be getting AMD 5000 BE, new ddr2 ram, and a mobo.....but which one?

I was thinking either the MSI K9A2 CF AMD 790X or Asus M2n-SLi delux. Probably leaning toards the MSI due to it being AM2+. What do you reckon?

I will be running a single 7600gs, bit of gaming and will be overclocking.

People, please help!

I have read really good reviews on the Asus, but can't seem to find any on the MSI.

Is the Asus really that good for overlocking? Is the MSI just as good? Will I regret it if I don't go for AM2+ of the MSI?

Few reasons..... 5000+ BE is a bargain (£80). Runs cool/low power consumption (not that intels aren't). people have had >3.2. I know what I'm doing with regards AMD overclocking and know nowt about intels.

5000+ is a bargain because it is poor compared to the Intel C2D chips. At the same speed the Intel chips are far faster, they overclock exceptionally well too. Most people get around 3Ghz from pretty much any C2D chip on a decent mobo. Overclocking is the same beast on both Intel and AMD. Drop the memdivider right down so you know it isn't messing up your overclock, raise the FSB till it looks a little unsteady and then raise the CPU or Northbridge volts a little and try again.

Personally I am about to buy a DFI Blood Iron to replace my Gigbyte 965 board as it is dreadful for overclocking. Sadly not available at OCUK, but search google and the first place that appears has a good price. The reviews seem to think it is a very good overclocker yet it is one of the cheapest P35 chipset boards. Personally I can't wait to be back to DFI as I loved my last one (same as in your sig).

Wow what a bummer!

First thing I'f suggest is slooooooooooooooow dooooooooown a bit, less haste and more speed (as they say). If you need to get your computer back online asap then your in the right place! :)

So tell us whats happened to the old system, did something blow up or what? Is it dead for sure, how long ago did this happen etc?

I will, ASUS make great products, apparently one in three motherboards in use are ASUS?, that may explain why their website is so slow! :)

Abit, asus and gigabyte are in my eyes really the main choises for mobos with there being BFG evga etc as well but genearly these are the main three.

Therefore 1in3 mobos being asus isn;t much of a suprise.
