Which Modular PSU?

corsair over the bequiet. you can not argue with a 7 year warranty - that wreaks of brand confidence. you cant loose with either (having owned psu's from both camps) but the build quality and warranty would tip it every time for me :)

Make sure when you buy a new psu that the rma is not in usa or asia you don't want the cost of posting to there.
I'd go with corsair too the rma is netherlands which is about £18 to send one to and they send you a brand new sealed unit no questions asked.

Only trouble with the Corsair warranty is that you have to send the PSU to Holland if its outside the first year - not cheap to do and very inconvenient.
I'm using a Corsair in one rig at the moment and it's been great, but the RMA system may may put me off buying another in favour of a manufacturer with a more UK-friendly RMA system in case things do go wrong.

No sure about the coolermaster, but you would still have to send the BeQuiet to Germany to RMA so meh, much the same really.
Good luck finding anything these days that you can RMA to the UK.

As for the OP:
Corsair, I have one and its a tank.
Has never skipped a beat and flat cables, ohh what a god send when you want to hide them :D

Corsair as it is a brand new product and ticks all the boxes that you require.

My Corsair HX520 IS powering an I7 rig and an NVIDIA GTX 275, plus 6 case fans. So I think that PSU will have no problems.

thanks for all the help guys. Have removed the coolermaster from the equation and i think its a coin toss between the Be Quiet and the Corsair ;)

corsair 620hx is more than enough for most systems. Save yourself £35 by getting that instead of a 850w one. Even SLI gfx etc max'd out will run around 400/450w power useage.

Incase you ever need to RMA to corsair - it's holland. Yes you have to pay to ship it there (cost me £18) but the service is excellent and i had to RMA my 620hx to holland about 9 months ago.

I purchased 2nd hand from Members market, it then broke about 6 months later, shipped it to them (no need for receipt or anything) and within 48 hours of them getting it in Holland i had a brand new sealed full retail psu on my doorstep.

Having read some external reviews i've decided to go for the Corsair. I'll be sticking to the 850w though as with a 7 year warranty i might actually need the power in its lifetime....

I'd go with the Seasonic M12D 850w, though not as efficient as the Corsair, there's not much difference. It's smaller, less noise particularly in the 0-500w area. But the UK RMA is the banker.
