I've currently got the Asus P5WDH-Deluxe, and I think it's time I updated my motherboard.

I've also got an E6600, (looking to get a 4870), and PC2-8500 4GB of RAM.

I'm looking to overclock as well; I have been looking at the X48s and P45s but know very little about either of the two; and the main differences of both of them.

I don't particularly want to be spending anything >£180 for a motherboard.

Which would you recommend, is X48 or P45 a better bet to go with?

Cheers.

X48 has dual pcie x16 for dual ati cards in crossfire, whereas p45 will run a single card at x16 or 2 at x8. x48 uses the older intel ich9r chipset while p45 has the newer ich10r. If you want full blown crossfire with ati cards x48 is the top choice, if using a single card p45 would be more than adequate (p45 will still run crossfire at a small performance percentage hit)

Thank you setter; I've looked around on the Forum and it seems that the most recommended P45s are the "Biostar TPower I45" and the "Asus P5Q-E"?
