which net book?

Depends what you'll be using it for.

If you dont need much space then go for the very small capacity SSD's. If you want a normal amount of space then go for the regular large capacity hard drives.

I couldn't live with a 40GB SSD drive, not enough space for me. So i'm going for the Samsung NC10 with the 160GB HD.

I'm just guessing having an SSD will be much cooler on your lap, no more burned thighs, besides it's easy to add a memory stick for extra space.

The Samsung NC10 is a great price though.

£10 laptop cooler you can buy from any major computer place can solve the burnt knees problem. Often doubles up as a protector when you put it in your lappy bag.

Taking extra baggage kind of defeats the object of travelling light.

That said, I can only find the Asus Eee PC 1000 in the 10 inch range which has a SSD in at present so the subject is mute. I would like an Advent (just like the feel of them), but I don't seem to see any with SSD drives.

Agreed...which is why i would get one that would almost wrap around my laptop and protect it while it is in my bag. Ultra light weight as well.
